About AOCM
Welcome to AOCM’s website. We hope you find it useful. If you don’t - or if there are things we can add… don’t suffer in silence, let us know ….. you can send an email using our contact form.
AOCM’s primary role is to inform and educate members on issues of concern and interest. AOCM is not a Union, but AOCM does represent its members’ concerns and represents its members to Ministry Division committees through meetings between members of AOCM’s Executive Committee and Ministry Division.
It has a funtion of reflecting on training for ministry through articles on the website and sharing news and views.
It also reports on issues of training through representatives’ meetings and website updates and articles.
The representational role is primarily a collective rather than an individual responsibility. Members’ first port of call should always be their own institution or Diocese and AOCM represents individuals as a matter of last resort. Representation to Ministry Division can be improved with more solid information about general trends and concerns and better targeting of issues to the appropriate committee or organisation, e.g. some things are Diocesan responsibilities. Another aspect of AOCM’s role is sharing of best practice between institutions and Dioceses
Updating any website is an ongoing process…. if you have information that you think it would be good to see on here email it to us and we can add it. Sections on finance and grants are always under development due to the nature of trusts and inflation… If you know of a charitable trust or even represent one that needs publicity, please get in touch.
Keep checking back to see what happens…
