AOCM Conferences - 2009 to 2010

Conferences for College and Course representatives for the forthcoming year are as follows:

Saturday 17th October 2009 - Cranmer Hall, Durham

Saturday 16th January 2010 - Trinity, Bristol

Saturday 17th April 2010 - Oxford, precise venue tba

If your training institution has a rep, please feed your comments and ideas to them. We’re particularly interested to hear about the impact of the recent changes in funding and the impact of the credit crunch. At this time of year we know that job-hunting is a big concern - please let us know if there is anything of particular concern. Please also feel free to share your take on events in the wider Anglican communion too.

If you don’t know your rep, or don’t think you have one, let us know… or even better volunteer to become your course rep! AOCM covers travel expenses for all delegates, but in the interests of stewarding limited funds, is grateful if reps keep costs down by advance bookings or shared transport

IN THE MEANTIME please keep us posted of matters of concern… we are only as good as the information we get from members and we can only take things up with Ministry Division or others if we know about them…

The following are priorities identified from the last meeting held at Queens, Birmingham on 24th/25th April:

Better information in the handbook - let us know what you think it would be useful to have in there… we are planning to include sections on Disability, What to do if things go wrong, useful contact information, grant making and financial information…..

Problems of finding curacies - improving the database - and curates accommodation

Disability, ill health and pension problems
